Brat's grill-happy attitude and the simplicity of their heavy-hitting food could lead you down a sharp wrong turn. Contradictions run rife to any visit. It's hearty and rich whilst understated and cool. You'll be impressed enough to think it inaccessible, but not out of reach, in a weird foody version of deja vu you'll recognise something in the food, but maybe what you can't remember is it tasting this good before. The restaurant is somehow stuffy but not flash and in no way is that a criticism, restaurants should all offer different experiences. Top tip: favourites are the crab and their lead-dish, turbot. The meat is not to be missed either. Grills till I die. Little sister at Climpson's Arch is a much more casual affair whilst pulling no punches on the heavyweight reach of the food.
