Abruzzo cooking in London Fields, in the old Papi space, designed and built by the two lads who own it on their own money. Mike Bagnall is on the coals, Dylan Walters (ex-Bambi) runs the floor, and the little dining room feels a bit Paris and a lot Hackney: cafe curtains, natural wine bottles along one wall, a life-sized Hopper print watching you eat. Hearty mountain food, a wine list leaning Abruzzese and low-intervention, and nothing over £18. Warm, generous, properly good. Top tip: bag one of the four seats at the chef's counter.
